CHAMBER OFFERS FRAUD AND BAD CHECK PROTECTION WORKSHOP FOR BUSINESSES
|
|
There are many risks in operating a business, and many of the consequences of these risks can be avoided. The Humboldt County DA’s Check Enforcement Program offers proven methods for businesses to protect themselves by understanding what to do if a bad check is received, and how to avoid receiving bad checks in the first place. The Eureka Police Department presents precautions businesses can take to prevent fraudulent activity. In an ongoing effort to inform and protect business members, the Eureka Chamber of Commerce is holding a Check Enforcement and Fraud Protection Workshop featuring Susan Vandermeer of the DA’s Check Enforcement Program and Ron Prose of the Eureka Police Department. The workshop is sponsored by The Times Standard, PG&E and The Red Lion Hotel. The workshop will be held on Friday, March 26, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Red Lion Hotel, Humboldt Bay Room. Reservations are highly encouraged as space is limited. Reservations may be made by calling the Chamber at 442-3738. Prices for the valuable session are $25 for current members of the Chamber and $35 for non-members. A breakfast buffet is included in the fee. |
