Workforce Partnerships Manager
POSITION TYPE: Full-time, non-exempt
SALARY: $25-27 per hour DOE, plus benefits
REPORTS TO: President/CEO
WORK LOCATION: Eureka Chamber of Commerce/Redwood Coast Chamber Foundation, 612 G Street, Ste. 101, Eureka, CA 95501.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Workforce Partnerships Manager is the lead for the Redwood Coast Chamber Foundation’s (RCCF) role in the Modern Youth Internship Academies (MYIA). MYIA is a program of the Blue Lake Rancheria Department of Education and strives to expand work-based learning opportunities, such as internships and job shadowing, for Native and other North Coast high school students. The role of RCCF in this initiative is to recruit and train partner businesses and nonprofits to host these high school students, providing them with real-life workplace experience. Programming will take place in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. RCCF serves as the hub for these activities and will both conduct outreach in the Greater Eureka area, and sub-contract with 4-5 other Chambers of Commerce to carry them out in their respective service areas. The Workforce Partnerships Manager is responsible for maintaining all program-related relationships and ensuring program goals are met.
All Redwood Coast Chamber Foundation team members are employees of the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce, assigned to carry out programming and activities within RCCF.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Managing the Work-Based Learning Initiative, in collaboration with Chamber team members and program partners from program design to program implementation
Recruiting businesses, nonprofits, and other workplaces to host work-based learning experiences for high school students, such as internships, job shadowing, and other activities, with a focus on recruiting BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, veteran, Tribal, and female-owned businesses and organizations to ensure diversity in the internship offerings across specified Industry sectors
Serving as lead for the initiative with other Chambers of Commerce with whom RCCF has a contract for services, fostering their successful preparation for and execution of outreach to their memberships
Collaborating with the Blue Lake Rancheria Department of Education MIYA Project Manager
Representing RCCF at collaboration meetings with Blue Lake Rancheria, schools, business, and nonprofit groups, and others to ensure program continuity across service providers
Scheduling, coordinating logistics for, and leading training sessions with potential partner businesses and organizations on best practices related to successful work-based learning experiences for high school students
Development and conducting of expanded marketing efforts to meet or exceed program goals, including social media, website, email marketing, phone calls, and in-person conversations
Optimizing the program implementation process by managing timelines and deliverables using continuous improvement processes
Preparing, submitting, and tracking participation, needs assessments, and surveys
Ensuring all programs and projects are delivered with high quality and attention to timeliness of action, excellent communication both internally and externally, and management of resources
Draft reporting required by funders and RCCF leadership on a routine basis
Keep up to date on current work-based learning and career and technical education (CTE) trends and practices
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
AA in education, business, public administration, communications, or other related field
Demonstrated ability in program management, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and successful community partnership building and executing meaningful projects
Strong understanding of and connection to both the education system, particularly at the high school level, as well as the business and nonprofit communities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences including small business owners, executives, managers, subject matter experts, and community members
Strong problem solving skills; detail-oriented, creative, practical
Team player with a positive, high-energy, hardworking aptitude
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and project implementation plans.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, program partners, and the general public.
Preferred:
BA or advanced degree in education, business, public administration, communications, or other related field
Experience working with marginalized communities, with an understanding of the impacts of generational poverty and trauma with three years of experience desirable.

Access to reliable transportation to travel throughout the region
Some travel outside Eureka
Occasional evening or weekend hours
