The Building and Construction Trades Council is an organization of fourteen union affiliates - Bricklayers, Tilelayers and Allied Crafts Local #3, Boilermakers Local #549, Cement Masons Local #300, District Council 16, Elevators Constructors Local #8, LIUNA Local #324, Heat & Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Local #16, IBEW Local #551, Operating Engineers Local #3, Sheet Metal Workers Local #104, Sprinklerfitters Local #669, Teamsters Local #137, Underground Utility and Landscaping Local #355, and UA Local 290 Plumbers and Steamfitters. Our purpose is to promote Union Labor in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties through community involvement, participation in job fairs, Project Labor Agreements, and cooperation with awarding agencies. We are committed to California Approved Apprenticeship and partner with local agencies to sponsor training programs for local prospective workers. We participate and support political events to further our Union Principles - good wages and benefits for working people, responsible local projects, and community cooperation. We are a non-profit organization, 501c5, and our work is done by volunteers and supported by our affiliates.
