While food trucks are often owned and run by sole proprietors or small teams, it takes a village to get them started – and even more effort to keep them in business. Enter Tasty Hub: Eureka’s new commissary kitchen rental space designed to support multiple food entrepreneurs in one central location, offering essential facilities, resources and networking opportunities that can help entrepreneurs grow and thrive.

Tasty Hub, which opened on July 8 at 1935 5th Street, exemplifies the vital collaboration between businesses in our community to support one another’s mutual success. It was born out of the challenges owner Gabrielle Long faced in

building her other successful ventures, Taste of Bim Caribbean Restaurant & Food Truck and The Grind Café. Hurdles included lack of kitchen space and scant off-season opportunities in the winter. Tasty Hub attempts to get around these obstacles by providing ample kitchen and indoor dining areas for businesses who need them.

Using her intimate knowledge of food service demands, Long has crafted the following list, detailing how food entrepreneurs, including those operating food trucks, catering and temporary restaurant businesses, can benefit from being in Tasty Hub’s collaborative commissary kitchen.
